In July 2019, we launched a mission to experiment and explore the genre of Musical Theatre. Our vision is to redefine & reframe musical theatre to be critical challenging, urgent and socially aware. We aim to support Musical Theatre Artists in their early career development, nurturing their voices & stories and providing the chance to create outstanding moments of theatre.

At the centre of our work, we’re thrilled to announce uprising - a musical theatre festival coming July 2020. We’ll be announcing an exciting array of commission opportunities specifically for British Musical Theatre composers & creatives in September. Following our acclaimed reframing of American Idiot, we’re thrilled to announce a new staging of Jonathan Larson’s Tony & Pulitzer Prize for Drama winning pop cultural phenomenon: RENT!
One of the world’s most renowned musicals, RENT explores love, finding your voice and living for today. Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, Larson's RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Our reimagined staging brings RENT into an occupied community, exploring the iconic story of love and survival is brought to life with an electric cast of professional, training and community performers.
Director/Producer Matt comments: “RENT holds a very special place in my heart after being part of a spectacular production several years ago. The pop cultural phenomenon touches everyone who encounters it. I’m excited to energise the show with a new uprising perspective & have the work headline what promises to be an unmissable week of musical theatre! Stay tuned for some huge announcements.
